Are the War in Kryta Quests supposed to be really hard?
I mean, usually I can do missions with just heroes and henchmen, but the War in Kryta ones seem really difficult. Even with Frozen Soil to stop them from rezzing, Riverside Assassination is still super hard for me. Does anyone else have a problem with War in Kryta quests?

The problem are the henchmen. With the hero update you should be able to roll through those quests fairly easily if you go all heroes and no henchies. Mainly you want to bring lots of damage to quickly clear out the mobs before they have the time to recharge some of their more deadly skills or have time to rez too many teammates. Most of these quests involve large mobs in close quarters so a Panic Mesmer will do wonders for you.

http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...t10472179.html For me, if I remember correctly, I basically went with: 3 necro "Sabway" type group - http://www.gwpvx.com/Build:Team_-_Sabway 1 Panic Mesmer - http://www.gwpvx.com/Build:Me/any_Panic_Hero 1 Ritualist - http://www.gwpvx.com/Build:Rt/any_SoS_Channeling_Rit (with Restoration heals in the option spots for extra healing). For 8 team areas I like to add another mesmer (Ineptitude, illusion) and another Ritualist (Communing spirits) I was playing a Dervish. I'm far from an "elite" player or anything and I rarely use tactics other than just bum rushing everything, so that should work for you too. |

Per above, also
Make sure all your armor is infused. Ran my Ranger/Rit SoS farm build with Livia N/Rit healer, Olias MM, Panic Mesmer with other interrupts. Couple of hench. It must be easier now with heroes. Think I did all the missions with the SoS farm build except next to last where running skills are really all you need. |

You may need to:
1) Upgrade armors. All of them, not just for yourself but those of your heroes. 2) Upgrade all weapons used. 3) If you are having trouble with your R/A build, try changing the secondary to a Rit. Build it with SOS. Maybe that might help with large mobs. 4) Another suggestion is to build one of the monk heroes into a bonder. |

You need infused.
Difficulty of the groups you face is a dice roll. Really makes a difference it you get some of the nastier combos. Pull, be aware of patrols, and control your aggro. First time through I would use the back door option, longer but you avoid the mursaat tower effect at the front gate. I have done both and the power drain of the tower can be a very real issue if you aggro a big fight there. Frozen Soil is good, but also spike down any healers they have. Two White Mantle priests far off in their backline can make a group very hard, and some of the healers will aggro from far out of your range to throw heals. I did it first go with H/H and in hard mode to at least have some survival on my hench. Went very slow, disengaged at every over aggro situation, took my time. It is a lot better now with heroes. First few are a learning experience. White Mantle/Peacekeeper groups are far more varied than what we are used to, and for some you need to actually see the skills they use, you cannot tell what they are by name. Ritualists can be very different according to the skillset used.http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/White_Mantle_Ritualist and http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/White...28ritualist%29 for example but all have the same name and appearance. Take a look at the Wiki page that shows the skills and profs you are facing. Once you have a feel for what you are facing and the priority mobs to kill it will become easier. As with all content. it seems harder the first few times. Last edited by Lasai; Mar 22, 2011 at 10:58 AM // 10:58.. |

Okay thank you very much guys I really appreciate all the feedback! I love these forums. ^_^
I'll get all those heroes and infuse my armor immediately (this helps with Riverside Assassination only, right?). |

No, infusion helps with any of the WiK missions with mursaat in it. Which is every mission after and including riverside.
If you find that you still are unable to complete the missions, I would be glad to help you. Just contact me ingame if you see me. <--- IGN |

Mursaat are everywhere in the WiK; infusion will only get more important as you go through it.
Proper pulling is a must in these missions. The groups are small enough that you shouldn't really have trouble with them, but it's very easy to attract more than you can handle with a bad pull. |

yes the quests are more difficult than other parts of prophecies, though they are doable with just heroes (and previously h/h--lots did them that way )
infusion helps versus the mursaat and the jade as they use spectral agony which can be quite deadly if you are not infused.

They are hard, and you will need to do what has been suggested - make sure your armor is infused, make sure your Heroes are fully equipped with proper Runes and Insignias and proper weapons - not just any junk you have lying around. You don't need to go wild with specialized builds, but you do need your Heroes to have workable builds. And don't be afraid to use cons if needed - that's what they're for. As mentioned earlier you need to be infused. Also, as with most other areas in the game a lot of it will depend on how you pull and who you focus fire on. The WIK part of the game can be very easy to over aggro so you must be careful when pulling.
It will also take a little bit of time to determine which classes have the hard rez. Many of the classes have the rez and if you don't target them it becomes a pain as they keep rezzing the dead which draws out your fights and increases the chance of over aggro. Once you figure that out it isn't so bad. For most WIK content I used a modified Discord way with a spirit spammer and Ele renewal protector. |

Mmm ok. I realized I never bothered changing my heroes' weapons... for some reason I just figured they'd change like their armor. o_o
And do my heroes' armor need to be infused as well? Where is the easiest place to infuse armor? Mines of Moladune? And Matirion, thanks for the offer! I'll PM you in game if I ever have trouble after I do all of this stuff! |

Your heroes will be automatically infused.
For infusion, I always just run to Mineral Springs - might take a bit longer but I find it less irritating than doing Iron Mines repeatedly. And yes, WiK is meant to be difficult. When it was first released last year, my guild leader and I went out without thinking about it and the Mantle mobs wiped the floor with us. Full hero teams and not having to rely on those crappy level 10 henchmen help a lot but it's still not easy by any means, despite what you'll see people whining about ("oh, they toned down the difficulty and BfLA and now it's too easy!" BS, BfLA is no cakewalk and they wouldn't have toned it down if the majority of people who took the survey didn't say it was too hard). The difficulty can vary wildly depending on what mobs it gives you, but pretty much anything can be persevered through with proper pulling. |

WiK is a good example of how to take things slow and use pulling and flags to your advantage. Taking the time to flag your heroes in the correct locations (this means not just one flag but using all to spread them out as a live team would be) before pulling a group can make a tough fight a faceroll.

Okay I just got the Sabway Necros, Panic Rit, and SoS Ritualist heroes done with, and redid Iron Mines of Moladune to infuse my armor. I hope I can beat it! As long as I pull correctly I should win right?

Pulling properly will help alot, but there is always a chance of bad luck (temple of the intolerable might have a full jade cloak spawn in one of the groups, as happened to me...) which can kill you, no matter how carefull you pull. In general it should help alot and even if it goes wrong, try again (complete restart if its a very bad spawn) and it should go better.
PS. Panic rit? Do you mean panic mes, or is there a new rit build I don't know anything about? |

Infusion is pointless.
My Dervish did War in Kryta after the update, not a single piece of armor infused. Only died in the Battle for Lions arch because of minions aggroing the entire army. I don't even think I would take heroes next time. Since heroes are infused, the only person taking real damage from spectral is you, and your heroes will just push your red bar up so it's not a problem. |
